G-ASJF British Caledonian BAC 1-11 201AC on the stand at London Gatwick

Gatwick memories One of the British Caledonian BAC 1-11s seen here on the stand at Gatwick - working flight BR013. The BCal BAC 1-11s were a common sight at the time but are now long gone.

G-ASJF c/n 010 BAC 1-11 201AC was an early build 1-11 which started life with British United Airways in 1965, later flying with British Caledonian until the early 1980s named "Burgh of Fort William". After 12 years, the aircraft was sold to Pacific Express as N103EX. After just two years, the airline was liquidated and the aircraft went to Cascade Airways. However, just two years later again it was bought for parts by Florida Express and broken up at Orlando International.
