Upper Butte Creek falls, winter

Beautiful waterfall above Scotts Mill, Oregon. This was the one I tried to get to last sunday and got stuck. This time got there with an atv. I was hoping for ice, like last winter in the gorge, but only got a little snow. Still beautiful, but I'll keep returning till I find icicles hanging from the rock ledge.

When I arrived here, I saw a small suv already there with stock tires and one chain on a tire. I couldn't believe a car made it down that road. Turned out it was one of my Flickr contacts, Aaron Courter . And of course when he left his car got stuck pretty close to where I did last week. We rigged a smaller chain to fit the wheel and he made it out eventually.
