One should have full control over thoughts and emotions. Our mind is the inner space which we create. Most of us are carried along by the demands of life and by our reactions to those demands. In the ocean of consciousness, waves of thought continuously overlap and feed into each other, during this when it is high tide it is difficult to see the calm seabed. Animals have an instinct to know if any natural calamity is about to occur because they are one with nature. If we too synchronize our thought with the elements of nature then we can control the reins of our mind and depict our future.

Standing in front of the creations of Ilyas Ahmed you have a palpable feeling that your facing a work of art, not only because of freely assembled components of machinery and automobiles such as ball-bearings, spark plugs,scanners and every component imaginable coupled with pieces sculpted from steel to form imposing installations, but also because of the sculptors ability to give them a lifelike dimension.
His work involve a plan which leads him to conceptualize the myriad materials which will be used. He arranges the same in his mind more like an architect than and engineer in line with the ancient Greek philosophy that architecture and sculpture were not the distinctly separate notions they have now become . He then cuts, bends, perforates and welds materials to evolve the final form.

The human-like forms do not appear to be grotesque but rather string warriors in perfect poses ready for any situation.
