D1015/1012 'Western Champion' at Dore & Totley and Masbrough Station - 5475/86

And the Return; good old Masbrough Station once more, though the traction type makes this partially a worthwhile re-visit. The 1st picture shows an example of the problem which was noticed on the tour's progress north this morning at Meadowhall. 'Western Firebrand' (nameplate swapped from 'Western Champion') looks as if there may well be something 'on fire' which shouldn't be, though I guess it running mainline means its not of serous concern, plus the 67 is still on the back. The set had arrived in York at 13:17, allowing the passengers around 3 hours to have a nosh in the Cathedral City of York and maybe a quick look round the NRM, before getting back on board with D1012 (number plate swapped from D1015) in charge again, not the DBC 67, 67015 and setting off back at 16:02, 12 minutes late. The working stopped only at Doncaster where the timing had slipped another 8 minutes and from then on it maintained this along the route through Hexthorpe, Swinton and Aldwarke to pass through here, the driver giving the few assembled enthusiast a toot as they came along the platform 4 up goods line on the the 'Old Road' at 17:16. Looks like Diesel is burning incorrectly on the class 52 as it passes, at just about the same time a Cross Country Trains Voyager, heading north on the 1Z49, odd working number for a passenger service but, at 37 minutes late it may well have been re-allocated this due to a problem, seemingly, between Barnwood Junction and Cheltenham Spa between which it mysteriously picked up a 45 minute delay. Wit just about matching 'end panels', the return 'Maybach Yorky' is also late, just a bit, on the 2 hour return from York to Derby on the 1Z28 PAthfinder Tours 'Western Music' return to the main line with a colourful set of coaching stock consisting of- an Intercity Mark II Buffet First: 1203, a Pulman Coach: 3278, a Kitchen Car: M80042, a dark blue 'Service Couchette' and eight, Virgin trains MKIIF TSO, Tourist Standard Open coaches. 
Stuck on the lower part of the second-man's cab window, facing this direction, is a sign reading 'MATEY'... not sure what this is for... answers on a postcard please, or in the comments below!
