I will get the V11 soon as soon as these go on super sell in this July. I am not one of these guys buy shoes at the full retail price just to test the latest and greatest shoe from your favorite shoe brand( unless it is a rare special edition casual shoes like Ultraboost OG Rainbow(pride) colorway or Nike Air Max 90 baroque brown, or some rare NB 998 ,etc)
I often pay up to 400 dollars for a casual shoe like the rare 998 or some rare Air Max 90, but for a running pair , I never want to pay anything more than 80 dollars.
why? Because the hype never last long, a new and better tech always coming and running shoes are not coveted collectors items.
I mean you cannot resell running shoes , but you can resell your casual shoes as long as these are Jordan, Nike , NB or some Adidas.
So I think paying the full retail price for any running shoes is ridiculously stupid. They will get marked down quite significantly in a very short period of time like a matter of 3 months or so.
With that said , the NB FC Rebel V2 was one of rare exceptions , I bought a couple of pairs of these in this April at my local NB outlet store, and I do not lie I have worn these almost 3 times a week.......
I could not resist the hype as a big NB fan, and I think it was worth the money, these are really amazing shoes.
I also want to try the new Puma Nitro series shoes , I briefly tested that as I could borrow a pair from my colleagues , but I need to retest Velocity Nitro as soon as these go on sell here.
I think NB , Puma and Adidas are three most underrated running shoes companies by the so-called ShoeTubers.
I love Adidas , NB and Puma running shoes, I prefer Nike for casual shoes or lifting, but for running I prefer Adidas actually.
I tried the Adios 6 recently and it was a fantastic shoe like most of YouTubers said.
I cannot wait to find a great deal on the Adios 6 and the Puma Velocity Nitro very soon.
Many YouTubers rate Puma and especially Reebok very highly for value, but in my area Reebok is super cheap but Puma is not selling their serious running shoes cheap here.
In my area the Puma Liberate Nitro costs about 30 dollars more than the Nike Peg 38.....and the Adios 6 is cheaper than the Puma Liberate too, so it is tough to justify the cost and just get the Puma now.
Nike's been always having some sort of sell here and buying their stuffs or Adidas is the easiest and most cost effective for me as I buy many many casual shoes and apparels from them and each time they give us some discount code for next shopping session.
So I haven't tried as many new Puma running shoes or training shoes just yet this year, but I will definitely try their new Nitro series(once the price drops) and NB 1080 V11 as the Rebel 2 is so great.
Those NB shoes are great , work great for me, but I think you should try them on(if that's possible) before buying them , I returned and exchanged 2 pairs before I finally got the right size.
These run very small, narrow and short. I thought all NB are at least a half size bigger than similar Nike or Adidas shoes, but this rule does only apply to their casual shoes.
Their serious running shoes are smaller than the other brand shoes.
If you normally get size 10 Nike or Adidas running shoes , you need to go a half size up with these. I bought a size 10 pair and returned it and got size 10.5 and still a bit too short and got a pair of size 11 1080 V10. This is my first time in a decade or two to get a size 11 pair.
I wanted to get a red pair , but these sold out while I was debating about the size.
If I have to rate these after just a bit over 30 miles or so now, I would give these 80 percent score of 100 max.
I would love to give them 100 percent score, but they are not durable enough. My pair is just like 2 months old now, and to my surprise the outsole is already wearing down , the outsole is no longer perfect , there are no more treads on the sole.
Now I cannot run on a wet surface in these.....
So the durability is the weak area of these NB shoes , I think these will not last long , and so I cannot justify the full retail price.
I got these on outlet sell for 6900 yen , so I can accept that short life of these shoes, but if I had to pay 145 dollars or so for these, I would be really furious about the terrible weak outsole that does not seem to last even 100 miles.
I find all NB "RUNNING" shoes very weak......my Fuel Cell Rebel 2 seem to be very weak too, just after 2 months old but these already losing the pop in the midsole.
I think the Adidas shoes are the most durable shoes for running and the NB , Hoka and Saucony the three weakest ones.
I think Nike and Asics are also very durable.
I find these facts very shocking as I know NB casual shoes like 990 V5 are super durable.
Now I am retesting my Ultraboost 21 and hoping these can replace my NB 1080 V10.
I think NB needs to put some new durable rubber sole on the bottom of these shoes like the Continental rubber of Adidas, then I think the Rebel and 1080 line will become near perfect shoes.
The weak rubber on the outsole is the only one real issue on these shoes(for me) , so NB must fix it in the next iteration of the 1080 series.
