One of the things I am finding out about my first real wildlife photography experience, is that nothing compares to being there. Having an animal that could crush the car I was sitting in walk withing mere feet of you definitely gets the adrenaline pumping. Leading up to our trip, we had heard that elephants in Kruger National Park were an ornery bunch and you really didn't want one charging at you.

Our overall experience showed that these huge land mammals really just wanted to be on their way and if you got in their way, well then you better leave the engine running and no where reverse is. Speaking of which, our rental car's transmissions made finding reverse quite difficult and several times, it took me minutes to find it. Luckily we enver crossed paths with a pissed off elephant, or I'm certain we woud have been flattened.

This is one of the few times that I thought outside of the box when it came to more creative images of wildlife. I included a few more images to share more of the 'snapshots' to round out the elephant section of my trip. :)
