North Western 299A, June 2023

            To the best of my knowledge, 299A is now the only bus to carry the name of W. (Bill) Leese on the side, North Western’s General Manager between 1962 and 1968. Ironically, although 299A was delivered in September 1968, by the following week when it entered service on 1 October, Leese had departed to bigger neighbour Ribble Motor Services.
