20312 and 20303, Swinton 17 November 2012

            Direct Rail Services Class 20s. 20312 and at the rear 20303, wait for a Pacer DMU to clear Swinton Station before continuing their journey working an RHTT.

This was an unexpected working as I'd gone to Swinton expecting to see 3S14 11:03 Stocksbridge Works to York Thrall Europa, but that failed to materialise from Sheffield at 11.49. However, thanks to a few phone calls from other waiting photographers, word soon got round that a replacement set was on its way from York and would pass through Swinton a bit later. Sure enough these arrived sounding great and then had the grace to hang around for a few minutes to enable some shots to be taken.
