on the castle trail, mount jefferson, new hampshire

            Yesterday 7/13/13, our group of four hiked Mt Adams and Mt Jefferson in New Hampshire's Presidential range.  We ascended via the Air Line and descended via the Castle Trail.  A strenuous but rewarding route.  We ran into a couple groups of friends while on the trail, and enjoyed some well-earned beverages at the trail's end.

Diapensia (a small white alpine flower) were out in abundance, as were the black flies.  The mountain gods giveth, and they taketh away.  

Feeling a little lazy today with a few scrapes and bug bites to show for the big day.  Next week, weather permitting and mountain gods willing, we'll try a 19.8 mile Presidential Traverse, and so we'll go over Adams and Jefferson again, and numerous other Presidential summits as well.
