CF-THG 2 Vickers V.757 Viscount ex Air Canada YVR 16JUL01

This Viscount, ex Air Canada sat in this position at Vancouver for many years before being floated across to Victoria, Vancouver Island on a barge for restoration.  It's now complete and on display at the British Columbia Aviation Museum in the original Trans-Canada livery.  The Museum is located at Sydney, BC, Canada (on the east side of Victoria International Airport).

The aircraft was delivered to Trans-Canada Air Lines as CF-THG in Mar-57.  TCA was renamed Air Canada in Jun-64.  It was withdrawn from service in Mar-74 and stored at Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

Along with another 23 Air Canada Viscounts, the aircraft was sold to Beaver Enterprises at the end of Apr-74 and remained stored.  It was sold to Harrison Air in Jan-77 and stored at Vancouver, BC, Canada.

It never entered service and was sold to BCIT British Columbia Institute of Technology in Jun-80 for use as an instructional airframe.  It was retired by BCIT in late 1995 and remained in open storage at Vancouver International.

The aircraft was sold to the British Columbia Aviation Museum in Apr-05, external restoration in the original Trans-Canada livery was completed by late 2008.
