Lineup: Bob Downham (low whistle/uilleann pipes), Bruce Lambelle-Rudd (diatonic accordion), M. Lomas (clarinet), Alex Walters (g/keyboard) and guests: Arthur Coates (fiddle), Victor Schollaert (diatonic accordion), Benoit Verbeiren (doedelzak).

This group. which is based in Newcastle, started out in 2017 as a duo of Bruce Lambelle-Rudd and Bob Downham. It expanded into a quartet in 2022. Three of the members are also part of the ceilidh band Vesterveg. The Hearken Quartet first met the Gestrikt band at Ethno Flanders in 2022. This tour together in the UK was to be followed by one in Belgium in October/November. At the end of the gig they were joined by the Duo Gestrikt musicians and by Arthur Coates who did the sound for the evening. I photographed Coates three times in 2018, twice with Tolquhon and once with the Rowies (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/tags/arthurcoates,-hear...).
