Headlands Sunset - a photo on Flickriver

Headlands Sunset

            This image was inspired by Japanese landscape paintings.  I like how the layering of the receding bluffs are rendered in 2 dimensions through the use of contrast.  People ask how I did this (thinking I Photoshopped it). It was simple.  I stood near the edge of a cliff in a very high wind for over half an hour as I waited for the sun to set to create the right light, then I hiked as fast as I could with all of my gear for the hike back to my car before it got completely dark (because I had waited for the sun to set to get this shot).
