Another Sign of Spring

Spring is here; Petunia has awakened from hibernation. She has been
sleeping under a cabinet in the kitchen since November. It is so good to
see her again!

Petunia is a desert tortoise. I found her walking down the sidewalk near my
house in California in 1973. She was only about 6 inches across at that
time; she is more than twice that now. Time to dust her off and fix her a
nice breakfast.

Of course you can see how she got her name... pretty little flower, isn't she? :-)
