Ok, first of all, I really don't like this picture of myself, but the sun was too bright for me to properly check the photo that I had snapped. Still, I'm using it for my day 2 photo because it has a little bit of significance for me. Back in 2018, I visited Thailand for the second time to go on a new year's yoga retreat. I happened to stay in a hotel just down the street from NIST and on my only day in Bangkok, I made it a point to walk to the end of the street to get a peek at the school. Then I walked around the neighborhood to get a feel for the place. I had a really strong yeah-I-could-live-here feeling. NIST was at the top of my list of next places to work not only because of its reputation as a great school and because it was in Bangkok, but because it was right in the center city (not a far-off outskirt like many international schools). On that day, I snapped a picture of myself walking along the canal behind the school. I looked everywhere (Instagram, FB, Flickr) and couldn't find that I had posted it anywhere, so I posted it today for comparison's sake. (Oh, and I like the old sunnies much better!)
