Lostock Hall Lancashire 8th June 1968

            These steam engines in the dump at Lostock Hall shed have nowhere else to go but the scrapyard. Most ended their days at Drapers yard in Hull some lasting into 1969. 

Note the piles of coal unceromoniously dumped out of the tenders before final disposal. Watkin Lane runs by in the distance.

There were three Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0s on shed; 43106 that made it into preservation and two that didn't: 43027 here & 43019 whose smokebox is on the right.
