Film Screening of The Public and Q&A with Ryan Dowd and Mark Chaput

Over 230 community members visited the Central Library for a pre-release screening of The Public, a film written and directed by Emilio Estevez. The Public is set in the Cleveland Public Library and highlights some of the issues homeless library patrons and library staff face in today's libraries. A Q&A session featured Ryan Dowd, author of The Librarian's Guide to Homelessness, and Mark Chaput from NBC Universal. Emilio Estevez, originally scheduled to speak, was unable to attend due to illness. Several homeless service providers who partner with the library staffed information tables at the event.
