Na een rit van 27 kilometer door een heuvelachtig landschap moet Billard-autorail 313 hoognodig afgetankt worden. Terwijl zijn collega de handpomp bediend vult de machinist de brandstoftank. "Presque plein, encore cinq litres!" (Bijna vol, nog vijf liter!). Als de motorwagen gereed is voor de terugrit kunnen de handen gewassen worden waarna er tijd is om de lunch te verorberen. Ook het personeel heeft brandstof nodig...
