Sitting Not So Pretty - a photo on Flickriver

            St. Lawrence & Hudson SD40-2 5593 was looking a bit tired as it sat in Canadian Pacific's Bensenville yard in 2006.

The StL&H arose out of a corporate reorganization at Canadian Pacific that was announced in 1995. 

CP wished to spin off its "eastern operating unit" into an operating railway company as a means to control poor financial performance of its assets in eastern North America.

In 2001, the StL&H assets were transferred back to CP ownership and the StL&H was dissolved.
