DSC_2000 - Version 2

            our car had been surrounded by a carpet of twigs and branches from surrounding trees.  we're still getting gusts of around 100km/h as I type this.  it's been an intense night.

gusts of up to 200 km/h recorded on the hills surrounding wellington last night. at times up to 30,000 residents lost their power.  

we've lost our fence, totally snapped off at the base; it's about 12 years old and was solidly built.  hey ho, at least nobody was hurt.
