During our holidays in the UK, my eldest son and I paid a visit to the Caledonian Railway, which runs between Brechin and Bridge of Dun. This day, the little 0-4-0 Barclay 1863 'Wee Barclay' was on duty. Both stations Brechin and Bridge of Dun are worth a visit. But also along the line, we found some nice spots to watch the trains run by. At some places the grass was rather high, covering the wheels. But I am sure that in the Golden Age of steam, this was also the case. Although the weather forecast wasn't to great, we only had a heavy shower while we were in Bridge of Dun to watch the first train arrive and leave. But for the rest of the day, the weather was fine. My son and I also went for a ride and enjoyed the sounds of this little engine.

Tijdens onze vakantie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk hebben mijn oudste zoon en ik een bezoek gebracht aan de Caledonian Railway, die tussen Brechin en Bridge of Dun rijdt. Op deze dag was de kleine 0-4-0 Barclay 1863 'Wee Barclay' in dienst. Beide stations Brechin en Bridge of Dun zijn een bezoek waard. Maar ook langs de lijn hebben we een aantal leuke plekken gevonden om de treinen te fotograferen. Op sommige plaatsen was het gras nogal hoog, waardoor de wielen soms bedekt waren. Maar ik ben er zeker van dat dit ook in de 'Golden Age of Steam' het geval was. Hoewel de weersverwachting niet te fantastisch was, hadden we alleen zware regen gehad toen we bij de aankomst en vertrek van de eerste trein in Bridge of Dun waren. Maar voor de rest van de dag was het weer goed. Mijn zoon en ik hebben ook een ritje gemaakt en genoten van de geluiden van deze kleine locomotief.
