What was that you said?

This is Jazz on my lap. He is a wonderful little puppy, despite a minor parasite issue for which he’s taking oral medication that he loves and the fact that he thinks the whole house is his potty pad. He was trained to use those, but they were on a tile floor, whereas I have carpeting throughout my house, so I just have to be super vigilant and take him outside a lot. Otherwise, I’ll be spending lots of money on Petastic (the original Nature’s Miracle that I don’t think is available anymore), which completely removes odors and stains.

I think he’s learned his name and loves to play with me and with Molly, who still keeps him at a distance if she’s lying next to me but otherwise is accepting him, however reluctantly. He enjoys being handled and lets me touch his teeth and his paws and claws, in anticipation of my cleaning his teeth and clipping his claws. He also likes to be brushed. He’s not afraid of anything.

A friend told me that male dogs will yield to females, but at 1.6 pounds he is asserting his alpha maleness. For example, when he and Molly are playing tug-of-war with a toy and he wrests it from her, he’ll lie on it so she can’t regain purchase.

I must wait till June 2nd, when he will have gotten his last puppy shots, before I can take him out to show him the world beyond my back yard. It’s gonna be a long three weeks.
