Looking across the Llanberis Pass from near Clogwyn Station, Snowdon, Eryri National Park, Gwynedd, UK

            I'm not a fan of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)'s busy Llanberis Path, primarily because the first ~5km from the village are a boring slog; merely a means to an end.  However, where the path crosses under the Snowdon Mountain Railway near Clogwyn Station, this view suddenly appears.  Weather permitting, of course.

The ridge in the foreground is Chwarenog, the arete between Cwm Hetiau (this side) and Cwm Glas (out of view, beyond), two corries on the south-western side of the Llanberis Pass.

On the other side of the Pass, the peak trailing a pennant of cloud is Glyder Fawr, which reaches 1001 m asl on the south side of Cwm Idwal (hidden from view, obviously).

The rocky ridge on the left of Glyder Fawr is Esgair Felen, itself defining the side of Cwm Padrig; the path from Gwastadnant in the valley to Twll Du (Devil's Kitchen) at the head of Cwm Idwal loosely follows the wooded course of the Afon Las.  Twll Du itself is not quite visible in the col between Glyder Fawr and Y Garn (947 m), on the left at the head of Nant Ffrancon.

Pen yr Ole Wen (978 m), the dark peak to the immediate right of Y Garn, is Y Garn's partner peak on the other, eastern side of the head of Nant Ffrancon.  Paler, directly behind, is Carnedd Dafydd (1044 m) then, to the right, Carnedd Llewelyn (1064 m).
