Trees in Uskdale Gap, Holme Fell, near Coniston, Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK

            These silver birches watch over the head of the path up the eastern side of Holme Fell, from Yew Tree Tarn.  The wooded slope behind, a kilometre away, is Tom Heights, on the far side of the tarn and the Coniston – Skelwith Bridge road; Tarn Hows is just beyond the ridge.

That's the Howgill Fells on the horizon, 35½ km away. The three parallel ridges rising leftwards indicate the main summits, The Calf (676 m), Bram Rigg Top and Calders, whilst Arant Haw is to their right.
