yesterday I started making myself a very simple ruff out of leftover ribbon and pearls. It's not very even, but when I put it around my neck it DOES look like a proper ruff. I am quite fascinated by its structure and I keep twisting it and putting it around my neck, on my head and arms to see how it falls and adapts its form. What you see right here is the backside, which will be right at the neck. (the thread won't be that obvious, then.). You could also use the pearly side as the front, but then you'd need more length altogether, since it can't open up on the pearl-side as much as it can on the other... *confusing explanation is confusing*
