Setting off shot from home!!
Day one. 280mile ride from home in Sheffield to Dunoon in Scotland..
Two breaks on the way up Scotch Corner & a stop on the M74 below Glasgow..
Past Glasgow to catch our ferry at Gourouck (MacInroy's Point) to (Hunter's Quay) near Dunoon..

Mon – 280miles. Sheffield to Dunoon. A61, M1, A1, A66, M6, M74, M8, A8, A770, ferry to Dunoon.
Tues – 86miles. Dunoon and back via Sandbank, Strone, Ardentinny, Strachur, Otterferry, Tighnabruaich, Otterferry, Loch Tarsen, Sandbank, Dunoon..
Wed – 112miles. Dunoon and back via Strachur, Rest and Be Thankful, Arrochar, Rest and Be Thankful, Cairndow, Inverarry, Strachur, Dunan’s Castle, Loch Tarsen, Sandbank, Dunoon..
Thurs – 5miles. Dunoon and back.. (Rainy day/rest day)
Fri – 121miles. Dunnon and back via Sandbank, Loch Tarsen, Colintraive, (ferry to Bute) Rhubodach, Port Bannatyne, Rothesay, St Blanes, Ettrick Beach, Rhubodach, (ferry from Bute) Colintraive, Loch Tarsen, Sandbank, Dunoon, Toward, Glenstriven, Toward, Dunoon..
Sat – 288miles. Dunoon to Sheffield. Ferry from Dunoon, A770, A78, A71, A76, A75, M6, A66, A1, M1, A61.
Total miles – 892.
Sheffield to Dunoon & back 568miles. (two days)
Touring the area 319miles. (three days)
One rest day 5miles. (one day)
Best biking roads – The B836 from the A886 to the A815, 10miles of absolute delight!
And on the way home the A76 from Kilmarock to Dumfries. Fast road with 30mph bits, loads of fast corners and bends, 60miles!
