The first American front-wheel-drive passenger car available to the general public was the Cord L-29, and about 5,000 were produced from their introduction in Jun of 1929 until production ceased on December 31, 1931. This particular example is a national award winning Cabriolet. Four body styles were available including a Sedan, a Phaeton, a Brougham, and the Cabriolet. It features an all steel unit body riding on a 137-inch wheelbase with a Lycoming 298 cubic inch straight eight 125hp engine, and three speed transmission.
