Neubrandenburg - Treptower Tor vom Kulturfinger aus gesehen

Das Treptower Tor ist mit 31,80 m das Höchste aller Tore.
Das gotische Tor wurde Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts gebaut, Anfang des 15. Jahrhunderts folgte das Vortor. Durch das Tor führte die Strasse Richtung Treptow (heute Altentreptow). Auch hier entstand im 18. Jahrhundert ein Fachwerkhaus für die Torwache. 1856 wurde das erste Telegraphenamt der Stadt an die Toranlage angebaut. Seit 1872 befindet sich im Haupttor ein Museum. Heute zeigt das Regionalmuseum hier Ausstellungsstücke zur Geschichte der Region.
