Mixed Shellfish Pot

This was a festive meal shared with two talented food writers and a wonderful couple - Jose and Elise, whose joint collaboration - Spanish Hipster is easily one of my favorite food blogs and an example of truly superb food photography.

The plethora of seafood in the pot was festive and created a unique party atmosphere, although the taste, I must admit, was a little weak for my palate - Sim Gaek seems to be more of a drinking place with live seafood, rather than a food destination. Still, it is a great place to drink, party and to meet friends over ubiquitous sochu and plentiful seafood and shellfish - in certain ways Sik Gaek is quite unique.
