Amur Leopard (Nikolai) Relaxing at the Jacksonville Zoo, Florida

It was a very hot day when we visited the Jacksonville Zoo. We stopped at the Amur Leopard enclosure half a dozen times while we were there and on every occasion Nikolai and the female sharing the enclosure were in the deep shade sleeping behind some brush or so close behind the wire fence that getting a good picture was impossible. As we were walking out of the zoo late in the afternoon, we stopped at the leopard enclosure one last time. This time Nikolai (we learned his name from a zookeeper at the enclosure) was still in deep shade, but unobstructed, sitting and looking around from atop a heavy branch. As we looked on, he laid down. All and all, I took a couple of dozen shots, but most are so similar that I'll probably keep only one or two of them.
