Barred Owl | Strix varia | Chouette rayée

            A chill, damp, grey morning is brightened beautifully by a dramatic sighting amongst the autumn foliage. Round head, brown eyes - Barred Owl!

This species is not strictly migratory, but some of them do wander in the fall, often showing up mid-October on the outer reaches of Prince Edward County.
