            Class 10 diesel shunter D4067 stabled in the yard at Loughborough, 22nd December 2007. 

Locomotive History
D4067 was built at Darlington works and entered traffic in May 1961, allocated to Sheffield Darnell MPD. The class 10 diesel shunter was mechanically the same as the class 08 shunter but was fitted with a Blackstone diesel engine and General Electric Company (GEC) traction motors instead of the class 08 English Electric equipment. Originally built as part of a dual sourcing policy they were then deemed to be non standard. The first class 10 (D3620) was withdrawn from traffic in February 1967, and the rest of the class had been dispensed with by May 1971 when 3646 was withdrawn. D4067 transferred to Langwith Junction in December 1962 and Shirebrook in 1966 (when Langwith Junction closed) from where it was withdrawn in December 1970. Following withdrawal it was sold to the National Coal Board, which allocated D4067 to Betteshanger Colliery in Kent. In 1976 it was relocated to Nailstone, Leicestershire and spent the end of 1976 in Doncaster works under repair. It was withdrawn by the Coal Board in March 1979 and in 1980 it was purchased for private preservation at Loughborough. After several years of hard restoration work it entered service at Loughborough in 1986.
