Hackelia micrantha - blue stickseed

            Blue stickseed in an upper elevation montane dry meadow at the southwest edge of the Spanish Peaks near Jack Creek Road, Madison Range, Madison County, Montana. Well developed leaves in a basal rosette (at the time of flowering and fruiting), clusters of 4 large nutlets, each which is about 4 mm long with faces lined with marginal prickles (and not connected to each other at the base), are distinguishing of this Hackelia species.
