This beautiful Harris Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus) had just landed on this tree branch and then immediately decided to take-off again. Also known as bay-winged hawk, dusky hawk, or peucoI, I was lucky to capture this amazing bird with her wings outstretched. Harris Hawks are more social than other raptors and can often be seen hunting cooperatively in groups. The vibrant russet or rust colored feathers with black accents also make this one of the more striking and easy to identify falcons.
