This is a recipe that my former mother in law used to use. The onions are soaked in brine for 24 hours then covered in a sauce made of sugar, turmeric, curry, pepper and mustard powder.

The outcome is sweet and sour and when finely sliced on crackers with cheese and some of the sauce, is to die for!
