HATHOR AT SUNRISE (2003)

            (From my personal digital image archives, year 2003)

Of all the mythology of ancient Egypt, Hathor and Isis are my favorite goddesses.

Hathor was often depicted in human form, but with cow ears. 

She was the goddess of music (sometimes you will find her holding a sistrum), dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth, as well as the patron goddess of miners.

The present picture has been taken at the Hathor Chapel at the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. West Bank, Luxor.

De toda la mitología del antiguo Egipto, Hathor e Isis son mis diosas favoritas.

Hathor se representaba a menudo con forma humana, pero con orejas de vaca. 

Era la diosa de la música (a veces se la encuentra sosteniendo un sistro), de la danza, de las tierras extranjeras y de la fertilidad, que ayudaba a las mujeres en el parto, así como la diosa protectora de los mineros.

La presente fotografía ha sido tomada en la Capilla de Hathor del Templo Mortuorio de la Reina Hatshepsut. Orilla Oeste del Rio Nilo, Luxor.
