Belmont Covered Bridge - a photo on Flickriver

Belmont Covered Bridge

            Fall in Belmont, NH. This bridge spans the Tioga River, in two separate sections and locations about 3/4 of a mile apart from each other. The bridge, now split into two sections, was purchased from the city of Dover, NH for $1. The project took about 6 years to complete, from 2013-2019. The bridge was originally named the Cocheco Covered Bridge, when it spanned the Cocheco River in Dover. Many from the Dover area  remember the bridge, but don't know it was relocated here. The bridge (now two bridges) is part of the Village Spur Trail, which follows an old rail trail, and is part of an extensive project to connect to the Winnipesaukee River Trail, about 3 miles away.
