This aircraft was the fourth of six Boeing 747-438ERs ordered new by Qantas. This was the 136th Boeing airliner delivered new and was the 55th Boeing 747 delivered to Qantas Airways. It was powered by General Electric GE CF6-80C2B5 engines. First flown as N5020K 16 January 2003. Entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-OEH 28 January 2003 and registered to Qantas Airways Ltd, Sydney. The aircraft was named 'Hervey Bay’.

It operated its first revenue service Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Los Angeles as QF11 18 February 2003. Rolled out at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) with 'Go Wallabies' painted on the belly 21 November 2003. Returned to service Sydney (Kingsford Smith) - Melbourne (Tullamarine) as QF431 21 November 2003. It operated an Antarctic Charter flight Sydney - Antarctica - Sydney as QF2901 23 January 2011. Operated its last revenue service Tokyo (Haneda) - Sydney (Kingsford Smith) as QF26 27 March 2020.

Withdrawn from service and stored at Sydney (Kingsford Smith) due to COVID-19 pandemic. Departed Sydney (Kingsford Smith - 10:27 AEST) on the ferry flight to Los Angeles as QF6001 19 May 2020 and arrived at Los Angeles (06:44 PDT) on completion of the ferry flight 19 May 2020. Flight time: 13 hours 17 minutes. Ferried Los Angeles (09:49 PDT) - Mojave (10:16 PDT) for long-term storage as QF6001 20 May 2020. The aircraft had flown 79,425.07 hours with 7,271 cycles. Sold to GE Aviation Materials.

9 October 2020 Vh-OEH was cancelled from the Australian Aircraft Register.
