VH-NJZ BAe 146-300(QT) Cobham - a photo on Flickriver

            Cobham VH-NJZ BAe 146-300(QT) c/n E3126. Year of manufacture: March 1989.

This aircraft was entered onto the British Aircraft Register as G-BPNT (CofR G-BPNT/R1) 4 January 1989 and registered to British Airways (European Division) Ltd, Horley, Surrey.

Rolled off the BAe production line at Hatfield in 1989. First flown at Hatfield 8 March 1989, powered by four Textron Lycoming AF507-R3 engines. Leased to the Dan-Air London Ltd as the registered operator 2 June 1989.

Returned to British Aerospace (UK) at Filton at the end of the lease 6 November 1992. Prepared for lease to Flightline Ltd, London 1 April 1993 and registered to British Aerospace PLC Region Aircraft, Hatfield 2 April 1993. Leased to Flightline Ltd as the registered operator 13 April 1993. Flightline was based at Southend Airport and operated general sub-leases and VIP charters. It was observed at Pisa on sub-lease to Palmair with joint Palmair / Flightline titles February 1994.

It was observed at Faro on sub-lease to Palmair with joint Palmair / Flightline titles October 1995. Based at Bournemouth Airport to provide backup to Jersey European from October 1997 to March 1998. Operated flights for Lufthansa Cityline, 29 March to 3 April 1999.

Sub-leased to Aer Lingus 1 November 1999. It was observed in all-white livery with Aer Lingus Commuter titles on forward fuselage 22 November 1999. Returned to Flightline at Bournemouth at the end of the sub-lease 9 January 2000. Rolled out at Bournemouth in Swissair Express livery 12 January 2000 and sub-leased to Swissair Express. Returned to Flightline at Southend on termination of the sub-lease 2 October 2001.

It was observed at Paris (le Bouget) with large 'RW' titles (Robbie Williams Tour) 1 July 2003 and at Cascais with 'RW' titles on the tail 21 October 2003.

It was observed at Paris (De Gaulle) in all-white livery with 'Jaguar' titles and tail logo 25 March 2004. The 'Jaguar' titles and the tail logo were removed 29 April 2004.

29 May 2004 the rear pressure bulkhead was severely damaged whilst landing in wind shear conditions at Florence It was ferried from Florence to Southend once repairs had been completed.

Returned to service with Flightline in December 2004. It was observed at Southend with 'Range Rover' promotional titles 20 April 2005. Rolled out at Southend in new livery with 'U2/V2' titles under cockpit for U2 Vertigo Tour 7 June 2005.

Operated regular flights Southend - Koln for Ford Motors Corporate Shuttle in July 2006. Sub-leased to VLM Airlines 14 March 2007 and was named 'Spirit of Rotterdam'. Returned to Flightline at Southend at the end of the sub-lease September 2007. Flightline ceased operations 3 December 2008 and returned to British Aerospace at Southend on termination of sub-lease 29 February 2008.

Ferried Southend - Bacau in the VLM livery for conversion to 'Quiet Trader' freighter configuration 8 May 2008. This conversion was carried out by Aerostar, Bacau, Romania.

The aircraft had flown 29,179 hours as of December 31, 2009

Registered to Trident Aviation Leasing Services (Jersey) Ltd - August 20, 2009. Prepared for lease to National Jet Express Pty Ltd. Cancelled from the British Aircraft Register and entered onto the Australian Aircraft Register as VH-NJZ 29 June 2010. Leased to National Jet Systems Pty Ltd as the registered operator. Operates freighter services for Australian Air Express.
