ca. 1348 - 'Graf Adolf VI von Berg (+1348)', Altenberger Dom, Altenberg, Odenthal, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

            Count Adolf VI of Berg (+1348) wears (Western German) armour of the late 1340s, early 1350s:

- a standard (mail collar) with scalloped edges;
- an ornamental headband;
- a surcoat worn very short in front, long behind (erroneously known as cyclas);
- a coat of plates with floral rivets worn over a hauberk with three-quarter sleeves, and a gambeson underneath;
- a belt with similar floral decoration;
- splinted rerebraces and couters;
- vambraces worn under the mail sleeves;
- mamelieres in the shape of a lion's head with retention chains that are attached to sword and dagger;
- a heater shield hung over the scabbard by a guige;
- splinted poleyns;
- mail chausses and mail sabatons with rowel spurs.
