The abandoned farmhouse - a photo on Flickriver

            Unusually for prosperous Oxfordshire, Garsons Farmhouse near the village of Ipsden has been abandoned, left open to the elements, most likely because its land was bought by a neighbouring farm. Although there is no sign the property is for sale, a developer with courage (and deep pockets) could clearly restore this to a splendid and valuable home. However, its Historic England Grade II listing would seriously restrict any significant changes and - perhaps most crucially - it is only accessible with great difficulty via a long, very narrow, single track with few passing places. Some outbuildings and barns still appear to be used for storage. It will be interesting to return here in a few years...
