            Blick über die Piazza della Republicca von Florenz zum Arcone, einem in einer Häuserflucht verbauten Triumphbogen. Das Ringelspiel als Blickfang mitten am Platz erfreut Kinder und Touristen schon seit mehreren Jahren. Der Platz sah nicht immer so aus; vor 1865 befand sich hier die Halle des "Alten Markts" (Mercato Vecchio) rund um ein Juden-Ghetto.

View across the Piazza della Republicca at Florence to the Arcone, a triumphal arch built into a row of houses. The eye-catching roundabout in the middle of the square has been delighting children and tourists for several years. The square did not always look like this; before 1865, the hall of the "Old Market" (Mercato Vecchio) was located here around a Jewish ghetto.
