Markant / Distinctive - a photo on Flickriver

            Als ich nahe der Seilbahnstation Türlwandhütte meinen Blick von den imposanten Südwänden des Dachsteins wieder lösen konnte, richtete ich meinen Blick gegen Westen, um mir wieder mal den etwas vorgelagerten, kegelförmigen Berg Rötelstein näher anzusehen. Aber unwillkürlich blieb mein Blick noch davor am Gipfelaufbau der markanten Grossen Bischofsmütze hängen, die mir über dem Sulzenhals-Sattel förmlich ins Auge sprang. Da mussten das Raucheck (rechts) und der Rötelstein (links ansteigend) etwas länger auf eine nähere Begutachtung warten. Zu beeindruckend ist die Bergform der Grossen Bischofsmütze und das Wissen, dass sie als südwestlicher Eckpfeiler des gesamten Dachsteingebirges von meinem Standpunkt kilometerweit entfernt und doch überraschend deutlich zu erkennen war.

When I was able to take my eyes off the imposing southern walls of the Dachstein near the ropeway station Türlwandhütte, I turned my gaze westwards to take a closer look at the conical Rötelstein mountain, which is slightly in front. But involuntarily my gaze lingered on the summit of the prominent Grosse Bischofsmütze, which literally jumped into my eye above the Sulzenhals saddle. The Raucheck (right) and the Rötelstein (rising on the left) had to wait a little longer for a closer inspection. The mountain shape of the Grosse Bischofsmütze is too impressive and the knowledge that it is the south-western cornerstone of the entire Dachstein mountain range, kilometres away from where I was standing and yet surprisingly clearly visible.
