            The New York, Ontario & Western's High View tunnel north portal.  At some point in the previous 50 years, "they" (officialdom) destroyed the tunnel portal.  Perhaps it was to discourage people from going into the tunnel, but the effect was to stop the tunnel from draining properly.  So, when, years later, they needed to inspect the tunnel, they had to clear away the rubble and put in a drainage pipe, which you can see at the bottom of this photo.  Oops.
