WATSON'S BACKYARD




In 1874, Harrison F. Watson built the paper mill that bears his name. The company specialized in paper used in packaging, roofing and other construction purposes.
The company also expanded to other areas of Erie, Pa. Eventually, this bayfront property was put to use by GAF Materials Corporation which closed the plant in 2007.
