On this, my second visit to Carlyon Bay, I took a photo I felt worthy of sharing! My first attempt last year was a bust due to uninspiring light.

When I saw the calm conditions, I knew that a long exposure would accentuate the calmness. After walking halfway along the beach (and stopping to pull up my left sock inside my wellie about a million times), I found my spot - a stream meandering through the sand to the sea. As the sun rose, the sandy edge of the river glinted in its golden light. I worked this area for quite a while. 

I composed this shot and chucked on a ten stop ND filter to allow for a 50 second exposure. When I reviewed the shot on the back of the camera, I felt it was lacking something. So, when a walker came into frame, I whipped off the filter and took a fast exposure to capture the figure. In post, I blended the walker into the long exposure shot - giving a focal point and scale to the scene.
