            In the days that saw the introduction of many new Sprinter units, teething troubles meant that some of the older units had to carry on much longer than they were intended to. As a result units were moved around the country to fill gaps and combinations got - well frankly - bizarre!

Having recently been displaced from services in the North West several Class 120 Cars made the journey to Glasgow to help out with unit shortages around Glasgow and Edinburgh. Here a Class 120 car is attached to two 101 vehicles seen arriving at Glasgow Central. 29th July 1986
