The Peaks have been part of my life from an early age.
When we moved to Worcester in the Midlands in the late 60's, Peaks were the staple power on the Cross Country route from the South West to the North so we saw the lot quite quickly (apart from the 44's which were a bit more elusive).
By the early eighties the 45/1's started to appear on a few select workings dictated by the use of Mkll d-e air-conditioned coaches.
One of these workings was the Bristol-Glasgow/Edinburgh and return which was a fairly solid 45/1 working. 
Working the southbound service which left Birmingham at 1815 45108 approaches Dunhampstead Crossing Box on 7th July 1981.
This loco is now one of the Peaks  that managed to make it to preservation and is presently at the East Lancashire Railway.
