“I hate going to the dentists. I need to visit one today and it’s going to be a nightmare!” said John when I met him waiting for a friend in a bus station. He is accompanying him on the visit to check his teeth.

John is 85 years old and all his life he lives in London. He wished he went to the WWII but was too young, so he helped the forces by fixing the electrical equipment. After the war was finished he carried on with this profession and made the living until the pension.

“I bought my first and only camera for 4£ and at the start I enjoyed it very much” he remembered, though he didn’t pick up on this. He was more interested in the construction of the cameras so the photographing wasn’t as important. ” I love black and white” he added “There’s something very artistic about it!”.
