Law, Bucksburn FJP 501

            During late September and early October, when the Scots invaded Blackpool, anything that would start and drive was liable to turn up. Unfortunately for me, many of them could only be found ranked up at the back of Turner's coach park, and completely inaccessible (I struggled to walk between them at times), so it was great to find something like this in the open. 

Coming all the way down from north of Aberdeen, FJP 501 was back on home ground, having been new to Smith's Tours of Wigan in 1960, but with a different Plaxton body, this one having been fitted in 1973. After a few years, it went on to spend its final period of use as a fruit pickers' bus in the Arbroath area. 

The FJP 501 plate continued in use on various independents' vehicles in the area until 2011, when it was lost, due to its then holder being scrapped without the plate being reclaimed.
