Covered Bridge's Last Winter

            I've read that the Hixon Covered Bridge in Bend's forested Shevlin Park will be removed this summer. It's a footbridge, not one that cars go across. It was built by the Walt Disney Company in the 1990s for a movie called Homeward Bound. That is, it was a movie prop. Anyway, it is now structurally failing (movie props aren't built to last decades, I guess) and there isn't the civic will or budget to restore it. So I'm glad I was able to shoot it one more time on this particularly picturesque, snowy day.
